Ukrainian postal operator Ukrposhta has completed the automation of all its sorting facilities, meaning that 100% of all parcels will be processed on automated lines to ensure speed and delivery efficiency.
According to Ukrposhta, parcels will now be sorted eight times more quickly and accurately, making next-day delivery between cities and regional centers across Ukraine a reality. The operator will be able to process two million shipments a day – reaching a processing speed of up to five parcels per second.
Igor Smelyansky, Ukrposhta’s CEO, commented, “2025 marks the completion of Ukrposhta’s most large-scale reforms, with sorting automation being one of the key milestones. Today, we’ve opened a new, modern logistics center in Zaporizhzhia, officially finishing the project of our sorting facilities automation. From now on, parcels across the country will be delivered faster, with minimal risk of loss or mistake.”
Ukrposhta has invested UAH 1bn (US$24m) in the modernization, with all sorting centers equipped with the latest sorting systems and software from Ukrainian company UIS.
This year, Ukrposhta plans to complete the automation of letter and newspaper sorting, as well as the kitting of pharmaceutical orders. It also intends to open another international shipment processing center.
