European logistics real estate developer Logicor has opened a landmark 74,000m2 logistics site in Daventry in the UK, which will enable businesses to reach over 51 million consumers in under three hours.
The Logicor Park Daventry site, which comprises three state-of-the-art warehouses measuring 35,800m2, 26,000m2 and 12,500m2, forms part of Logicor’s plans to deliver 167,000m2 of new units in the UK in 2025.
It is one of three large developments that Logicor is set to complete this year, the other two being Derby 507 (47,000m2) and Bolt 330 (over 27,000m2). All three developments are part of Logicor’s strategy to deliver and manage high-quality logistics parks with easy access to critical European markets.
“As our largest development in the UK so far, Daventry marks a major milestone for Logicor,” said Charlie Howard, Logicor UK managing director. “Over recent years our capacity and expertise have grown rapidly, allowing us to execute some of the largest and best-located developments in the market.
“Logicor Park Daventry will create long-term employment opportunities and, as a modern, sustainable development, forms part of the key logistics infrastructure that enables the flow of trade across the UK.”
Sustainable construction
Logicor Park Daventry is EPC A and BREEAM Excellent rated. Each warehouse features solar photovoltaic installations, enabling the generation of renewable energy on-site, while EV chargers support the use of electric vehicles. LED lighting throughout the office and external areas also enhances energy efficiency. Focusing on biodiversity and staff well-being, the site has an outdoor gym and 9,000m2 of peaceful woodland, with 4,500 new trees.
The completion of this facility is expected to have a substantial impact on the local economy, with the creation of approximately 1,000 jobs for local people. The warehouses will also allow expanding businesses to stay in the Midlands while increasing their capacity.
