Logistics service provider DB Schenker has expanded its German fleet with the addition of 40 Volvo FM Electric trucks as part of its sustainability ambitions.
The electric 20-ton trucks with the option for trailer operation are suitable for urban last-mile delivery and regional transportation with a range of up to 300km. They will be deployed nationwide from December 2024.
“By deploying an additional 40 electric Volvos for last-mile delivery, DB Schenker underlines its commitment to leading the transition to sustainable drive systems and strengthens its partnership with Volvo Trucks,” explained Cyrille Bonjean, executive vice president of land transport at DB Schenker in Europe. “We will be able to offer low-emission transport solutions to our customers across the country.”
Ralf Többe, head of the land transport cluster DE/CH at DB Schenker, added, “Integrating 40 Volvo FM Electric trucks to our fleet, we at DB Schenker are making a strong statement toward a sustainable future for logistics in Germany.
