Direct Entry Solutions (DES) has partnered with Austrian Post to create a mail tracking service that is compatible with IPC’s Interconnect Programme, allowing wholesalers to view the progress of mail in the distribution process.
The PostPort solution provides a visibility platform for priority, non-priority and customized untracked mail for printers, mailing houses, fulfillment centers, mail consolidators and post rooms. Wholesalers can see when their mail reaches key points in its journey, such as entering the postal system of the destination country.
A simple to use online consignment documentation system, PostPort enables customers multiple-user access to compile, print and archive detailed consignment information without the physical paperwork.
PostPort has been aligned to the new Interconnect formats and operations procedures formed by IPC, allowing customers to benefit from Interconnect’s boxable format for posting heavyweight catalogues and publications and sending e-commerce goods up to 30mm (1.18in) in thickness.
Phil Coleman, chief executive of DES, said, “We constantly strive to give our customers the latest and best mail and parcel products. PostPort gives our wholesale customers control over their mailings through traceability and makes available Interconnect’s prized format benefits that will deliver to customers cost savings and efficiencies.
“Looking to the future, PostPort can also adapt quickly to Interconnect’s future format changes and can easily switch formats as new countries join Interconnect.”
