Asendia UK, a provider of international mail and parcel solutions, has reached a major milestone in mitigating its CO? emissions having planted 30 acres of trees since joining the Woodland Trust’s Woodland Carbon initiative in 2014.
The program enables companies to reduce the impact of their carbon emissions by planting trees across carefully selected sites in the UK. Asendia UK has now planted new woodland the size of 17 soccer pitches, equating to just over 5500 tons of CO?.
Elliott Mallows, head of marketing at Asendia UK, said, “As a forward thinking, modern company Asendia UK recognizes that it must do all it can to neutralize any impact it has on the environment. We’re very proud to be part of the Woodland Trust project to reduce our carbon footprint, not only to help protect our environment but also to create and preserve woodland areas across the UK.”
Karl Mitchell, director of fundraising at the Woodland Trust, said, “Asendia UK can be really proud of its achievement in helping to create this new woodland. We want to encourage all businesses to reduce their carbon footprint and mitigate their residual emissions through planting trees with the Woodland Trust.
“All the trees we plant are grown and sourced in the UK and will provide homes for precious wildlife, from dormice to red squirrels. A massive thanks to Asendia UK, its support is so vital in helping us to create woodland that becomes a place that generations of people can enjoy and visit.”
