Penny Petroleum and Homebase customers in the UK will now have access to parcel lockers thanks to partnerships with Parcel Pending by Quadient.
Parcel Pending by Quadient will install its Drop Box lockers at Penny Petroleum’s network of gas station forecourts, offering secure and convenient locations to pick up and return packages while they refuel. A built-in printer functionality will enable customers returning parcels to print and attach labels at the locker before depositing, making the entire process hassle-free.
Katia Bourgeais-Crémel, EVP parcel locker solutions Europe at Quadient, commented, “We are excited to partner with Penny Petroleum to bring the convenience of our Parcel Pending by Quadient locker network to consumers in their petrol forecourts across the UK. Our mission is to provide convenient and secure package delivery solutions to businesses and their customers, and this partnership is a perfect example of that. We look forward to working with Penny Petroleum to enhance customer experience and provide innovative solutions to meet more of the local community needs.”
Homebase agreement
The company is also partnering with UK home improvement retailer Homebase, installing its locker solution at stores across the country.
Neil Robinson, head of property at Homebase, said, “The introduction of smart lockers makes it even easier for customers to pick up or return their online deliveries in-store, as well as acting as an extension of our own click and collect service.”
“We are excited about this partnership with Homebase, which contributes to expanding the new delivery options we are bringing to consumers across the UK,” Bourgeais-Crémel added. “By installing our open lockers alongside its other in-store services, Homebase can become a one-stop shop for customer needs, all while freeing up in-store staff and team members and reducing the environmental impact of parcel deliveries.”
The partnerships are a further step on Quadient’s journey to roll out 5,000 open locker locations across the UK and follows its recent Royal Mail announcement that it plans to install 1,500 lockers by the end of the year and a further 3,000 lockers in the future.
