Delivery solutions provider DX has expanded its freight division with the reopening of its East Grinstead depot. The 14,000ft2 facility will help DX accommodate continued growth in its Freight 1-Man division, which specializes in parcel freight and in particular awkward-to-handle freight items.
According to DX, the depot will improve operational efficiencies, boost sustainability and enhance customer service levels.
Paul Ibbetson, chief executive officer of DX Group commented, “We are delighted to have reopened the East Grinstead depot. It will provide our freight operations with greater capacity and increase capability in the area. It also helps to make us more efficient and reduces our stem mileage, which in turn will lower our overall carbon emissions. We continue to focus on setting market-leading service standards.
“We have invested significantly in our depot network over the past few years and will continue this program across the group, including IT, vehicles and equipment.”
DX Group has opened several depots already this year, including one in Preston and one in Carlisle. The company is also investing £12m (US$15.3m) in a new 25,000ft2 regional hub in the East Midlands of the UK.
