DPD’s chief operating officer Justin Pegg has been awarded a senior fellow hood from the Institute of Couriers at the House of Lords in recognition of his contributions to the final-mile sector of the express logistics industry.
The event was attended by 200 guests, including Shadow Minister for Skills Seema Malhotra, who congratulated the sector for its engagement with the apprenticeships in express logistics, driver, sortation, and the new degree candidate starters for L6 degree express manager.
Carl Lomas MBE, IOC chair, said during the ceremony on February 29, “The Institute of Couriers was delighted to recognise Justin Pegg with the honor of presentation of a senior fellows hood at this year’s gowning ceremony. It was a privilege to gown Justin Pegg for the most worthy recognition of contributions to express logistics and showing the road of a life’s work with commitment at the highest level.”
On receiving the fellow hood, Pegg, commented, “I’m delighted to have been granted a senior fellow hood from the Institute of Couriers. I’ve been with DPD for 34 years, and in that time, I am pleased to have learned as much as I have and translated that into contributions to the delivery industry. It was an honour to be able to attend the event at the House of Lords, and I want to thank the Institute of Couriers for this prestigious accolade.”
