Whistl has received a gold ranking from EcoVadis, the international platform which evaluates companies on their environmental performance and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
In four years of assessment, Whistl has risen through the grading system and is now in the top 5% of all companies rated by EcoVadis.
Nick Wells, executive chairman at Whistl, said, “I am delighted that our focus on operating ethically and sustainably has been rewarded by the EcoVadis gold rating. Each year we have made progress and reaching the top 5% of all companies rated reflects the hard work of the whole team. We are not complacent and will continue to strive to operate at the highest standards.”
EcoVadis is an online evaluation tool that enables procurement professionals to compare suppliers in terms of sustainability, environmental, social and ethical work and view any changes or improvements.
The rating methodology is built on international sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact and ISO 26000. The review process covers four areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
Whistl achieved the gold standard in the same year that it outlined its strategy to achieve net zero by 2045.
