Earlier this summer, International Distributions Services, the owner of Royal Mail, announced the appointment of Martin Seidenberg as group CEO.
IDS Group stated that Seidenberg will lead the group under a revised structure and set its strategic direction. In due course, he will be appointing CEOs for Royal Mail and GLS, responsible for the operational management of the two subsidiaries. Seidenberg joined GLS in 2015 as CEO of GLS Germany and was appointed as CEO of GLS in June 2020. He has been a member of the IDS board since April 2021.
Prior to joining the group, Seidenberg spent 15 years at Deutsche Post DHL, where he held a variety of logistics, strategy and CEO roles internationally.
He comes to the company amid a crucial period in the history of Royal Mail, with the national postal operator facing myriad challenges. What should his priorities be and what obstacles might he face?
In this latest episode, Marek Różycki of Last Mile Experts, and co-host Gary Winter, vice president of global strategic initiatives at Quadient, discuss these issues.
