Parcelhub has opened an 11,000ft2 depot in Leeds in the UK, which is intended to meet the demand for parcel consolidation and multi-carrier solutions from West Yorkshire-based e-commerce retailers.
The site will initially be operated by 13 employees of which 10 are already working with the company. As the site grows, the operations are expected to generate more job opportunities which will include supervisors, collections drivers and warehouse operators.
The new depot is located on Leeds’s Confederation Park, Lowfields Road, with access to the M621, and joins Parcelhub’s other Yorkshire-based depot near Sheffield. Additional investment has been made in electric vehicle charging points for Parcelhub’s new Maxus eDeliver 9 electric vans.
Steve Marjoram, managing director of Parcelhub, said, “We are delighted to be expanding our ability to provide e-commerce retailers in West Yorkshire with personalized service and local collections and consolidation of their parcel volume through one point of contact. These customers will now benefit from our attractive carrier rates which have been secured due to our size and scale.”
