Parcelhub has committed to investing £450,000 (US$543,000) in the rollout of electric vehicles within its regional depot network in the UK.
Several vans are already operating from the company’s Nottingham and Dinnington sites. Over the coming months, all-electric vans will be added to the Parcelhub fleet across all sites, as the electric charging infrastructure is expanded across its network. Maxus eDeliver 9 electric vehicles will complement the current fleet, undertaking on-site local collections for customers, typically SME and mid-market online retailers and brands.
Since its acquisition by Whistl, Parcelhub has extended its coverage and sites throughout the East and West Midlands, South Yorkshire, East London and Essex. In June 2022, Whistl refreshed the Parcelhub brand, aligning it more closely with the group’s overall look and feel.
Steve Marjoram, managing director of Parcelhub, said, “We understand that we have an important role in reducing our impact on the environment in the areas in which we operate. Through this investment, we will lower not only our C02 emissions but also those of our customers as we all try and play our part in becoming sustainable.”
