International delivery provider PostNL has appointed Jennifer Crites as chief information officer (CIO), a role she previously held on an interim basis at chemical industry company AkzoNobel. As CIO, she will also become a member of PostNL’s executive committee. Crites succeeds Marcel Krom, who is to depart PostNL on September 1, 2022.
Between 2000 and 2013, Crites worked in various business and IT roles at consumer goods corporation Procter & Gamble. She came to the Netherlands to join dairy cooperative FrieslandCampina in 2013 as director of IT corporate and support and also worked as director of IT at lingerie specialist Hunkemöller. At AkzoNobel, she was director of IT in the office of the CIO before working as acting CIO. In that role, she led the process to define the IT organization strategy, positioning IT as the digital catalyst for the company’s businesses.
Herna Verhagen, CEO of PostNL, said, “We are very pleased to welcome a CIO of Jennifer’s caliber to PostNL. With her background, in-depth knowledge and extensive experience at large international corporates with business and digital transformation and ICT development and her passion for data, she will be of great value to PostNL. As CIO and member of the executive board, she is well positioned to shape the crucial role of information technology in the development of our logistics networks and our digital transformation.”
