To strengthen its omnichannel logistics in Asia, 3PL company FM Logistic has opened a 70,000m2 multi-customer facility in India and a 20,000m2 multi-client urban distribution center in Vietnam.
The multi-customer facility in India, inaugurated on April 26, is in Farrukhnagar, a strategic location near the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (Delhi) highway. This location was chosen to enable faster access to consumer centers in the north of India. This facility will provide warehousing, handling, co-packing and distribution services to meet the needs of e-commerce and omnichannel customers. It forms part of the company’s €150m (US$158m) five-year investment plan that was announced in March 2019. The construction of the warehouse was managed by FM Logistic’s real estate sister company, NG Concept.
The multi-client urban distribution center in Di An, Vietnam, will integrate warehousing, picking and distribution under one roof and focus on omnichannel distribution in Ho Chi Minh City. The center will work with the company’s existing 50,000m2 urban distribution center at Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) in Bac Ninh. The Di An center was launched alongside the company’s agreement to manage the omnichannel logistics of an international fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company. Under this contract, FM Logistic will manage last-mile delivery for nearly 10,000 traditional grocery shops in Ho Chi Minh City.
As part of its ‘Powering 2030’ strategy, FM Logistic has committed to respond to the major changes in the retail and FMCG sectors and supply chain management, as well as the boom in e-commerce. Currently, more than 60% of FM Logistic’s new contracts worldwide are for omnichannel logistics services. The company is investing heavily in automation across its markets to support its e-commerce operations.
