DHL Parcel UK has partnered with e-commerce returns platform ZigZag. Through this partnership, ZigZag retailers will be able to offer their customers the option to return their parcels at any one of DHL’s 3,500 ServicePoints across the UK for next-day collection. Returns will be delivered back to the retailers the following day. DHL’s turnaround time is expected to appeal to retailers looking to get goods back on the shelves quickly through efficient returns handling.
Consumers will be able to track their returns through the DHL Parcel app; retailers will do so through ZigZag’s platform. DHL’s Just Right Returns service sees drivers pick up multiple parcels from ServicePoints, while also completing drop-offs, to create a more environmentally sustainable and cost-effective operation.
Peter Fuller, CEO of DHL Parcel UK, said, “As e-commerce continues its rapid growth, there is a demand for effective returns solutions to meet this same pace. Our returns service is fast and convenient and we are delighted that, by partnering with ZigZag, it will be available to a whole new network of retailers.”
Al Gerrie, co-founder and CEO of ZigZag, said, “We’re committed to enhancing our service and choice to customers through the very best partnerships and this new relationship with DHL Parcel is a great example of that. DHL is an excellent brand with a reputation for its fast and reliable network so we’re thrilled to make its returns service an option for our retailers.”
DHL’s extends easyJet partnership
Alongside the company’s partnership with ZigZag, DHL has also extended its ground handling agreement with Gatwick Airport in the UK through to 2027. The contract will see DHL continue to deliver logistics operations including passenger arrival and bag-drop, baggage sortation, boarding gate marshalling, aircraft loading and unloading, as well as management of other service providers.
Spencer Conday, managing director of supply chain solutions at DHL Supply Chain, said, “The continuation of our partnership with easyJet is of huge importance to DHL and something that we are immensely proud of. In what has been an incredibly challenging time for the airline industry, we’ve worked in close partnership to respond to the changing needs of easyJet and its passengers. We’re looking forward to continuing to build on this relationship, and further enhancing operations and the travel experience for customers.”
Hugh McConnellogue, director of operations at London Gatwick for easyJet, said, “We have been delighted with how the DHL partnership has developed over the last four years across three major UK airports. By reviewing every process in detail and implementing new methodologies, DHL has made invaluable changes that have hugely improved our overall performance and customer service.”
