Nova Poshta has opened an 18,000m2 automated terminal in Dnipro, Ukraine, equipped with automated equipment from MHS Global and the Equinox.
This terminal has cost approximately €28.5m (US$32.5m) to build, of which €13m (US$14m) came from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The terminal has created 500 jobs and the center operates 24 hours a day.
Parcels and cargo for 108 areas within the Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Donetsk regions will be sorted at the center, which is currently capable of processing 26,000 parcels per hour. Following the completion of an additional sorting line this spring, it will have a total capacity of 36,000 parcels per hour.
Alexander Bulba, CEO of Nova Poshta, said, “The launch of a new automated terminal in Dnipro will allow us to double the processing of parcels in the region in order to provide customers with high-quality delivery with an increase in shipment volumes. In addition, these are 500 new jobs and new business opportunities that will be able to increase their sales – guaranteeing their customers compliance with deadlines and an appropriate level of service and paid taxes to local budgets that go to the development of the region.”
