InPost says it has passed a milestone of deploying its 13,000th automated parcel machine (APM) in Poland. The unit was placed in the city of Sopot, where the company also delivered its first renewable energy solution for APMs utilizing photovoltaic panels.
The development follows InPost’s recent announcements related to its Green City program aimed at the largest cities in Poland, which is set to focus on delivering a wide range of innovative and environmental initiatives in partnership with city authorities. Since the program was announced, the company has signed agreements with the cities of Łódź, Kraków, Kielce, Zielona Góra, Częstochowa and Wałbrzych.
Rafał Brzoska, group CEO of InPost, commented, “At InPost, we are continually redefining the last-mile delivery experience for consumers, providing unrivaled convenience, speed and quality of service. We are pleased to reach another milestone, our 13,000th APM in Poland, as we continue to extend our leading market position in our home market.
“Moreover, our APMs play a crucial role in reducing harmful emissions and protecting our planet. Last year, we generated more than 100,000 tons of CO2 savings for the environment, while simultaneously reducing traffic and noise pollution. Today, we are taking the next step as we lead the way in becoming the most sustainable form of e-commerce delivery. With our first renewable energy solution for APMs – an industry first in Poland – we will be able to significantly reduce our energy consumption, simplify our network deployment, while further enhancing our value proposition to all our stakeholders.”
